State Champions Hockey 16U Select

Brody holding the well sought after Trophy

Brody and his life long friend, Robbie
enjoying their hard worked for medals.

The youngest grandson, Brody- now 16 and driving with a permit, participated  this last weekend with the 16U Select Hockey Team to play at the "States" in Buffalo.   They had an astonishing record of all wins and no losses going into the final competitive rounds as the top seed.

SUCCESS!  They won the 2025 States Championship.    So proud of all these young men.

As most everyone realizes, these teams don't get there without the never-ending support from family, friends and the local communities - as they says:  "it takes a village".   To boost morale a locale business made fat heads of the players so the fans could label themselves of which player they stood with.  Here are some of the Moms sporting them and Giggling as they are too cute!

YEAH TEAM!

OWL pincushion done

One of my monthly goals is finished and the other two are coming along fabulously.

Threads used are pictured in the background and besides the "needle-holding flags on the front right,
did my version of a chicken scratch stitch to attach to the pincushion base.

I placed a couple layers of wool hanging off the front edge as a place to hold my sewing needle when not in use.  It's edged with fray check so hopefully it'll stand up  to the wear and tear.  If not I can always cut it off as if it was never there.
Time will tell.

I also did my version of a  "chicken hen scratch" stitching to attach that black wool to the cotton print background.   I felt that with this piece an organic look would complement it best.  Stitched wonky Xs , /, \  and even l's both long and short.  Actually, the stitching was done at UNO's while sipping a martini and having lunch waiting for the Christmastide service to begin in between a couple of hockey games.

It was a very busy Sunday.
Shhhhh, I'll never admit I went to church after having a martini.  My first time,  BTW but  I felt so guilty in a very pleasant state!

Slow Stitching Sunday 3-8-15

Linking in this after noon with Kathy's quilts for a slow stitching Sundays after spending most of the day in Saranac Lake at a Hockey Tournament for the youngest grandson.   He did well, scoring 6 goals.  Yeah B!

Since it's late and now approaching evening, this is what I've been working on.  Not too much more to go before this one gets done.  Thinking of using beads instead of french knots which the pattern calls for.
Will need to audition which will be best.

Hockey Boy

Second time on ice.
Watch me Meme!
It's the most fun to slide on my knees, look how far I go.

Learning and living his dream since he was 2.
What a workout for this lil' duffer.
What a cutie!

Check out lil' Hockey Boy.  He wants to be the goalie.   He is just adorable and such a sweetie pie and has a natural athletic ability.  He's learning to ice skate and just started Hockey (a dream he's had for the longest time it seems).  For the past couple of years he'd "skate" with his socks on my hard wood floors pretending to be a hockey player.    Now if only we can get him to pronounce his S's, C's and other letters correctly.    lol

Enjoy your day,
Jane
