I'm in for WIPs-B_GONE 2021

After the most recent finish I know that finishing projects feels fantastic so I've joined up with this link Leanne started to see how many more finishes I can accomplish by the end of the year.   Crossing my fingers that it'll be plenty.

A few of my WIPS are:

HST drawn for ends of the spools for the Edyta Sitar Spool pattern for my idea of "99 Spools of thread on the BED" Quilt:

Current Needlepoint is getting close to the finish, (am hoping to finish the stitching on this Sunday):

36 Patch blocks continuing to be made-

A couple of wall hangings made into tops that need finishing-

Cross stitch starts- Full Moon by the drawn thread, Fairy Garden by Blackbird designs, another shepherd's Bush that I've kitted and oh there are so many more.   VBG!

Homemade goods created like table runners, teapot cozy, table top quilt*lets, pincushions, bags, etc... and I'm not considering the foods I'm pickling, canning, freezing and regular meals cooked and stored for later too.....lol

You get the drift.  There are plenty of projects and now that the gardens are getting closed up and autumn is here, my "plate-spinning" demands should be slowing down.

Yet I have miles to go....

Just keep going, just keep going....

Life is still fast paced so I find myself humming this 'titled post phrase' gently and softly to myself.  Just keep going, do the work, are you living in JOY?....

And the answer is YES!  The youngest Grandson's Mit Hockey team won the tournament out of town yesterday and he scored 8 times in 4 games. Wish we could have been there for that but traveled in the opposite direction with PGD's basketball team.  No win for her team, but they played well with a lot of heart. Way to go little miss and little man!  I told his Mom to pat him on the butt and tell him "Good Game!" from me. LOL I know I am a wicked-funny grandma right?  LOL
We also fit in visiting with the eldest PGS#1 at his home this past Thursday night and brought him the requested Venison Stew Dinner with a banana cream pie for dessert.  It was a nice visit and the first time we saw his new to him Home since he moved there a little over two weeks ago.  Seems like a really nice place with many kind people around to help out.  I think it will be an awesome place for him to reside as he continues to do so well with his new surroundings, responsibilities and priviledges.  Just after arriving he had to have his wisdom teeth removed.  He was so grown up and understanding about all of that and I was able to attend him there with his other set of grandparents there too.  Way to go Bob!

Stash Report #6 finally has movement:

Fabric Used: 2.5 yards
Fabric Used this year:  2.5 yards
Fabric Added this week:   0
Fabric  Added this Year:  5

Net Gain of 2.5 yards

This added up thankfully with the fabrics &  linings used for the two finished January projects of the Twelve days of Christmas Apron and Hungry Hungry Caterpillar Pillow shown on January 31, 2016.  I've also slated another 2 plus yards on the current project, but can't tally those numbers in until it is totally finished.  But measuring the borders and binding cut and sewn so far I have 1.25 yards.  Maybe I'll be able to hit a ZERO mark by March, fingers crossed.  I'm linking this stash report post up with Judy from Patchwork Times.

For Slow Stitching Sunday that I'm linking up with Kathy, I have a huge section of preliminary Crosses to stitch on that I might be able to finish when we watch the Panthers vs the Broncos at my son's home this evening.
I'm not a huge football fan, I like to watch it for the commercials.  8~ )
So I'll be happily stitching away if the lighting is right during game time.   Note to self:  maybe bring that "Ideaworks" little portable lamp - just in case it could be helpful.

There are many threads hanging as I don't carry the threads on the backside when there is a break in the pattern.   Started to stitch some of the finished crosses above when I thought to let those threads hang out (park method style) until I could finish stitching them tonight or while traveling or visiting with friends, etc... a new to me technique.  Will not need to follow a pattern for this part now, just have to cross those slashes.(You can click on the photo if needed to see the detail of what I'm talking about.)

I plan on taking a little break from blogging so you won't hear from me for awhile.
Everything is fine.  I just didn't want you to be worried, but find life is getting too busy just now.
I'll be back.

Take Care,
Jane

The first twelve are what I'll pledge to finish in 2011. The additional listings are the additional projects that I'd like to clear up. This is for the quilting challenge. I also intend on participating with her stashbusting challenge for this coming year too. I'll come back to this page to edit my finishes as they occur. I noticed on with revisiting this page visit that I listed the Inunshuk twice (as number 7 and as number 18). I'll change the #18 to something else. Not yet sure what so I'll leave it open for a bit in case somehting else comes along and I just need to wort on that.

Now for the cross stitching challenge of listing and working on 15 projects for
2011, and where I first read about this one I'm not sure, but when I stumble across it, I'll post a link to it here. I just did a google search and found it was Minna.

1 ~ Calico Crossroads, In stitches ~ finished Jan 2011
 2 ~ Just Nan, Daffodil Run ~ started March , 2013
 3 ~ Bent Creek, Santa's Reindeer ~ finished March 2013

10 ~ Freebie of the net, Reindeer Sampler
11 ~ Bent Creek, The Red Thread
12 ~ Just Nan, Witch Way
13 ~ Biscornu, Irish or Cherry
14 ~ Primitive Betty, Valentine freebie
15 ~ La-D-Da, Briar Rabbit

For my personal knitting challenge I'd like to complete:

1 ~ DH's slippers
2 ~ Scarf - Crocheted 2 and knitted 2 2012 & 2013
3 ~ Hat

Our Christmas stockings were knitted by my Mom years ago and I want to learn how to knit them. My obstacles are foremost, they are socks, numerous color changes in the pattern and last, they are socks. Can you tell I am intimitated by SOCKS. But I want to work on these others in preparation to thinking of tackling the Christmas Stocking Socks.

As for my sewing, I won't list everything that is imprinted on my little ol mind. Okay, well just a few then.

1 ~ Grey Slacks
2 ~ DH Bathrobe
3 ~ PGD#1 Halloween pillow
4 ~ Snowman Pillow ~ Finished 2/28/11
5 ~ Pin Cushion with ORT bag - October 2012

Quite and undertaking but I really think I'll be able to push myself a bit to get these done. The only hang up I foresee is the amount of cross stitch to complete. To me, that is huge! SO without further ado, I remain saying

I think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can....

Jane

PS: after signing up on Judy Laquidera's blog I noticed my sign-in number is 123. So I'm a thinking this challenge will be "easy as 123", (humming along with the old Michasel Jackson tune now).
